Dodgers’ Chris Taylor And Justin Turner Homer In Loss To Phillies

Chris Taylor opened the series in Philadelphia with an inside the park home run! The Dodgers’ haven’t seen a lead off insider since Dave Roberts himself back in 2003!

Following that shot, Justin Turner roped a solo shot down the line in left to put the Dodgers up 2-0.

Unfortunately, the Dodgers were not able to hold onto the lead as things turned sour very quickly when the Phillies hit a grand slam off of Kershaw in the 6th inning. Luis Avilan and Tony Cingrani would come on in relief of Kershaw, who would end up going just six innings.

Curtis Granderson tried to keep things interesting by hitting a solo-shot in the top of the 9th, but the offense just couldn’t get another run on the board to tie the game.

The Dodgers ended up dropping the game 4-3 and the magic number remains at four.

  1. Hope that dinger by Granderson doesn’t give Roberts a false hope that this has been is any good anymore. Kinda reminds me of him using Hatcher over and over. Roberts seems to have the problem of giving the ax to some of these veteran subpar players(Pederson, Hatcher, Henderson, and Gonzales.) At least Hatcher is gone and no longer mucks up the bullpen. Hope Roberts wises up when he makes out play off rosters.
