Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw Signs Shoe Deal with Skechers, Will Wear in Postseason
According to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, the great Clayton Kershaw has signed a shoe deal with — not Jordan, Nike, New Balance, or Adidas — but with Skechers.

This is pretty interesting, but with Clayton Kershaw in tow, Skechers could very well utilize him as the face of their brand in an effort to further immerse themselves in the sporting goods market.
Skechers is reportedly supplying Kershaw with cleats to wear for the 2019 postseason and Kershaw will put pen to paper on his new endorsement deal on Wednesday. The cleats will have a customization labeled ‘CCC’ for his two children Cali and Charley, as well as a child who is on the way.
As Shaikin notes within his column, Skechers does not sell baseball cleats and they might never do so. However, they made a customized cleat just for Clayton Kershaw.
The Skechers brand also reportedly plans to release a Clayton Kershaw training shoe in the near future. Kershaw remains the only professional baseball player signed with Skechers and is one of just 28 professional athletes in the world endorsed by the brand.
Kershaw is now in the second half of his career and this endorsement deal could represent forward-thinking on behalf of himself and his agency at Excel Sports Management.
Kershaw will make the formal announcement on Wednesday, one day prior to the beginning of the NLDS against the Washington Nationals.
Sketchers are for nerds
You must have a pair.
Found the Sketcher nerd lmao. You got the perfect name for a sketcher wearer too
My husband loves Sketchers. He bought a pair of Nikes and walked out in them…..we went into a Sketchers store and he tried on a pair of shoes there and walked right back to the Nike store and returned them. That was a couple years ago and now Sketchers are the only shoe he likes. He says they are like walking on clouds. And he walks tons of steps a day……probably 20,000……Our local newscasters were saying this morning that they got free Sketchers from the LA Marathon a couple years ago and they love them. They can’t stop talking about them. We won’t buy Nike now anyway…..so good for Kershaw! We will be on the look out if he does some other styles!
That’s because sketchers are for nerds and old farts
Old farts? Then I must have a pair!!!
I hope the shoes don’t mess with his delivery. Skechers really..lol
Breaking-in a new brand of cleats for the first time in the Post Season, a problem?
By the way, they’re not cleats in baseball. They’re called spikes! Good for Kershaw! Make all you can!!
Serious? New Balance literally call them “Baseball Cleats” https://www.newbalance.com/men/shoes/baseball-1/
Nike calls them Cleats https://www.nike.com/us/en_us/c/baseball
Eastbay call them “Baseball Cleats” https://www.eastbay.com/category/sport/baseball/shoes/nike/cleats.html
Dicks calls them cleats https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/products/nike-baseball-softball-cleats.jsp
BaseballMonkey calls them cleats https://www.baseballmonkey.com/homerun-footwear/homerun-footwear-men/homerun-footwear-men-cleated/shop-by-brand/nike.html
“Can I have a pair of size 14 spikes?” It just doesn’t sound right. They’re cleats.
