The Los Angeles Dodgers have found themselves in the middle of a potential cheating scandal. In Evan Drelich’s new book, he notes the Dodgers as a team that potentially cheated during the 2018 season. There isn’t much truth to the rumor, but of course, with Spring Training underway, there was an opportunity to ask Dave Roberts for his thoughts. And on Wednesday, that’s what we got.
Roberts was asked about the accusations, and said the MLB investigated the team after the 2018 season, and “came up with nothing.” Jack Harris of the LA Times reported on that exchange.
If it’s true that the Dodgers were investigated and the MLB found nothing, then there’s pretty much nothing else to be said. If the MLB investigated and did find something, we would have heard about it in the last five years. So, if you ask me, I would say this rumor can officially be put to rest, and we can move forward with the 2023 season.
