Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled all the right levers in World Series Game 6, which kept the team’s season alive for one more game.

In Friday’s 3-1 victory, Roberts put together a managerial masterclass by moving Mookie Betts to cleanup and telling him he was “going to have a big hit.” Betts came through for the Dodgers with two runs batted in.
Next, Roberts opted to start Miguel Rojas at second base and that decision paid off as the veteran played a part in the huge game-ending double play.
The lineup change also included Will Smith, who bat second and brought in a run Friday. Roberts also deployed all the right relievers out of the bullpen going from Justin Wrobleski to Roki Sasaki and then to Tyler Glasnow.
The Dodgers skipper also had Justin Dean enter the game in the ninth inning as a defensive replacement, and his decision paid dividends as the outfielder was apart of the play that changed the trajectory of the game.
Now, the Dodgers have rolled out practically the same lineup for Game 7 (with the exception of Max Muncy and Teoscar Hernandez switching spots in the order). Roberts revealed his plan of attack for the World Series finale Saturday night.
“There’s certain guys I trust,” Roberts said to ESPN. “You’ve got to be proactive in Game 7, but you can’t be overly aggressive in certain spots. That’s the beauty of Game 7. It’s gonna be so much fun, dude.”
And so, buckle up Dodgers fans for the final ride of the 2025 MLB season.
