Dodgers: Evan Phillips and Wife Liz Announce a Baby is On The Way

A few years ago, we had the Winter of Weddings, when it seemed like half the Dodgers team got married. This year might be the Offseason of Infants. Will Smith and his wife, Cara, welcomed their first child into the world on what ended up being the final day of L.A.’s season back in October, and Mookie and Brianna Betts announced last week they’re expecting their second and final child. Now, the indispensable Evan Phillips and his wife, Liz, are getting in on the action.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillips will be welcoming a new member of their family sometime in 2023. The couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than by adding to their family.

Evan and Liz were engaged during 2020 when Covid hit. Liz wasn’t working and Evan was injured, so they made news by teaming up to sew masks for first responders and others who needed them early in the pandemic.

Evan and Liz met when he was playing in the Braves organization in 2018. They had a mutual friend and somehow ended up following each other on Instagram, and they eventually met in person. Within two months they were dating, and then they got engaged in January 2020, just in time for the pandemic. They were married in a small ceremony in November 2020 and had a larger marriage celebration a year later.

No word yet on when the baby is due, but congratulations to Evan and Liz on the upcoming joy of parenthood!
