Dodgers Getting Lindor is A Real Possibility, Says Jon Morosi
The ‘hot stove’ appears ready to really heat up in the coming days and weeks with the GM Meetings under way in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Dodgers are rumored to be in talks with multiple teams in trade scenarios and could also be laying groundwork with agents for free agency.
On MLB Network, Jon Paul Morosi spoke more into detail about what the Dodgers are currently considering at the moment and whether or not Francisco Lindor is a real possibility.

Francisco Lindor
The Dodgers have been rumored to be interested in star shortstop Francisco Lindor of the Cleveland Indians. Jon Paul Morosi spoke on the truth to those rumors and the likelihood of a Dodgers-Lindor partnership:
“It is a real possibility. I don’t think we can say it is close or serious yet, but among the many scenarios that exist at the GM Meetings here in Scottsdale, Lindor to the Dodgers is one of them. In fact, I had a GM tell me this yesterday that at least one of Lindor, Mookie Betts, or Kris Bryant will be traded somewhere. The possibility of a blockbuster is very real in the early stages of the offseason.”
MLB Network’s Chris Rose spoke about Lindor and the Dodgers with DodgersNation.com this week as well.
Industry thinking seems to have Los Angeles poised to make a big move.
The Dodgers Staying Put with Top Prospects
The Dodgers reportedly do not expect to part ways with top position player prospects Gavin Lux and Will Smith:
“From the Dodgers’ perspective, they have done a very good job of holding their very best prospects for a long time. At one point in time, that was Cody Bellinger…good thing they did that. But now, the talk is if they would give up Gavin Lux or Will Smith, two of their best position player prospects. I’m told that for now, their stance is that they would not part with Lux or Smith.”
Gerrit Cole and Zack Wheeler
According to a recent report by Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, league executives expect the Dodgers, Yankees, and Angels to engage in a bidding war for Gerrit Cole. According to Morosi, there is a strong belief that the markets for Cole and Wheeler are nearly identical with Wheeler being viewed as something of a consolation prize.
Until the Dodgers’ current regime ACTUALLY TRADES for more than a rental where they give up very little ,I will have to see it to believe it!
Dodgers brain trust Go for it!
Hopefully the deal (phantom deal) includes Corey Kluber. Dont think Seager, Pederson, Ruiz and Josiah Gray is enough to get it done. Maybe one more piece? Edwin Rios or Peters?
The Indians don’t need Ruiz. They already have the top defensive C in AL, who also hit over 20 HRs last year.
LA Dodgers should not trade for a one season rentals like Francisco Lindor of Mookie Betts and give up Corey Seager and Joc Pederson or any of our great prospects why do that? Trade for a great starting pitcher that is going to stay with the team for few years.
The first priority for Andrew Friedman is to (1) signed starting pitcher Gerrit Cole (2) signed third baseman Anthony Rendon (3) signed shortstop Didi Gregorius Yes this player is a gamer get him while he is available.
Lindor still has two years on his contract. Also, haven’t you ever heard of a contract extension? They can make the deal and execute the extension at the same time. However, you are right about trading valuable pieces for a one year gig. Don’t think that would happen, though.
Ralph ya saved me from having to post what ya just did. A 1 year rental in Betts makes NO sense at all.
i think they should keep segar and forget about lindor and get another good starting pitcher and some more bullpen help try to sign will smith who is a free agent
Why keep Seager? He can’t hit the ball in the postseason!
Hasn’t yet. Past means nothing going forward. If it did Rendon wouldn’t have hit in the PS this year.
