Dodgers Injury Report: Trayce Thompson Sidelined, Latest on Clayton Kershaw, Andre Ethier and More
Los Angeles Dodgers baseball is officially back! The Dodgers find themselves in Arizona to face the Diamondbacks in a 3-game series. The Boys in Blue are coming off the All-Star break, where they sent 3 players to the midsummer classic.
As for Clayton Kershaw he is still recovering from a back injury, but has made huge strides in his recovery along with teammate Alex Wood (elbow).

Andre Ethier, who has been sidelined since Spring Training, underwent scans to see if his injury has healed. Unfortunately, the scans revealed only bad news for Ethier.
Ethier's scan showed bone still not fully healed. He'll continue to do baseball activities to his pain level. Mid-August return unlikely.

Previously Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said an August 2nd date was “realistic”, then updated it to mid-August prior to the scan results being released. With his fracture still not healed Ethier could be out another month and possibly the remainder of the season.
As for Kike Hernandez his return is also still unknown. He was placed on the DL with left rib cage inflammation and is reported to still have some discomfort.

And finally Trayce Thompson will be sidelined due to back irritation, and could possibly be headed to the DL. Thompson said he felt the pain on Sunday, on his side area, according to TWC SportsNet LA Reporter Alanna Rizzo. However it turns out it is low back irritation.
Low back irritation will sideline Trayce Thompson for at least 2 days. Roberts didn't rule out a DL stint.
