Because things worked out so well in 51 and 62? No thanks. Let’s just win it outright.
We have to catch them first. We wouldn’t be in this situation if we had rid ourselves of Roberts the Clown.
There’s very little chance of the Dodgers playing a tie-breaking game against the Giants. For one thing the Dodgers can’t seem to keep from getting injured keeping key players off the field, there’s absolutely no chance that they will get rid of Dave Roberts, who, by his questionable decisions, has put the Dodgers in a perpetual second place in the NL West. And third, and I’m afraid this may not be so popular with folks, but it’s obvious the team hasn’t got the heart to play clutch games that would let them catch the Giants. Yesterdays game is a good example. 3 to 1? In a pennant chase when each and every game is important they can only muster 1 run? These guys aren’t champions. They’re also rans and the end of the season will point to that fact, with them finishing second place and having to play a wildcard game just for the privilege to play in the post season.
I think it’s time to begin preparing for the truth and understand that this year will end in the Dodgers early exit in from the playoffs and left wondering what could have been if they weren’t hit with so many key injuries and the poor decisions of their manager.
They might be looking at 164 games before a playoff series.
