Dodgers: Josh Reddick Shows No Remorse For Role in 2017 Cheating Scandal

Dodgers fans will never forget how the Houston Astros stole their opportunity to win a title in 2017. If that wasn’t apparent before, it was definitely made clear when fans finally got their opportunity to let them hear it in person earlier this year.

You certainly can’t blame them, especially when players from that 2017 team continue to pour fuel on the fire.

The latest example of this came early Tuesday afternoon. Josh Reddick decided to host a Q&A session via Twitter, and one fan asked the former major leaguer if he had any regrets about the way 2017 played out. Reddick, of course, wasted no time in setting the record straight.

This is a rather strong sentiment from someone who currently finds themself without a major league (or even minor league) job. It’s even stronger considering that Reddick only managed to hit .154 in the postseason, even with the added assistance.

It should come as no surprise that these players have yet to express any guilt or regret for their actions considering that they never paid any consequences. There’s a difference between refusing to acknowledge the truth and embracing it, however. While other members of that Astros team have done their best to put some distance between their actions and their current status, Reddick has repeatedly rejoiced in the fact that he had to cheat to win.

At the end of the day, no one is going to lose any sleep because Josh Reddick has yet to develop a conscience. He’ll be remembered more for his mishaps off the field than any production on it, which is all the justice we truly need.

  1. Dodgers scored 1 run in game 7. Please tell me how the Astros stealing defensive signs screwed over the dodgers ability to score runs??

      1. Of all the opinions I have heard or ready in my whole life, that is definitely one. The Astros actually batted better away from home in 2017 (.284) than they did at home where they were able to steal signs (.279), so…. did they cheat? Yes. Did it help them hit better and win more games? MAYBE. Maybe not. We don’t know.

What we DO know is that cheating or not, the Dodgers had 4 WS games in their park and all they had to do was win 3 of ’em (since they got a win in Houston). But they couldn’t do it and their most pathetic effort in the series was Game 7 where it mattered most. Some will say “the better team won” (Hou) and some will say LA “choked”. I like to think it was both. 🙂

    1. ‘are the biggest bunch of whiners’

      AND World Champs!!!!

      Sooooooooo davie —-> STFU

World Champs!!!! Did I say World Champs!!!! I think I did.

      1. And yet yer STILL crying about 4 years ago, where WS Game *7* was in YOUR park with everything on the line and your team laid an absolute egg. They fell apart defensively, only scored 1 run and were never in it. And that was the SECOND game Houston won on your field. Sorry (not sorry), but the better team won in 2017. Get over it.

    1. Agreed. Two words:

      WORLD CHAMPS!!!!!!

Ms Karma loves us. Obviously loves us as, after Houston cheated, LA became WORLD CHAMPS!!!!!!

On the other hand B1tch. sf is STILL just another team in the west still TRYING to even win the division.

  2. We didn’t cheat in the 2017 playoff. We even beat you guys twice at your house. Redick didn’t use the system any ways. We were better than you guys period. Talk about how the Dodgers and Yankees can spend more money than any other team year after year. Let put a salary cap on spending and let see where the Dodgers and the Yankee end up

    1. They didn’t cheat during the 2017 playoffs? The mlb investigation found credible evidence they did use electronic sign stealing throughout the postseason. Read the report for yourself. Go sell revisionist history elsewhere.

    2. LA = WORLD CHAMPS

      “spend more money t”

Awwwwww now whos the whining b1tch???

LA = WORLD CHAMPS. More to come.

  3. Hey, Reddick is consistent. He was a putz when played for the Dodgers and a putz when he played against them.

  4. You keep saying it was stolen from you, but it wasn’t. Bad baseball is still bad baseball. Yall just sucked

  5. Sign stealing is nothing new. If a team cannot figure out a way to make their signs too difficult to steal, shame on them. I guess the Astros are having a tough time scoring now that they cannot steal their opponents signs…

  6. Hi all, I’m a Huge Dodgers fan. And I hate to say this but I do agree with most of the comments here. Especially the part where we couldn’t even manufacture more than a run or 2 while the Astros scored 7 on our Asses in game 7 at DODGERS STADIUM GUYS. We got beat and also by poor coaching decisions. How on earth do you exhaust most of your bullpen in games 1 and 2 when we have 2 legit starters. And pulling Rich Hill in games 2 and 6 in the 5th with a low pitch count. Come on Robert’s and money all type style bad decisions. We lost 2 of 4 games in our own house. Face it Dodgers fans we got beat PERIOD. No excuses and yes base stealki go has been around since we were kids playing little league. You still have to put the bat to the ball.

    1. “booboo ”

They have a current WS ring. You are the one with a sore butt, Only a whinner would come to LA’s site to pout like baby.

      Life is good here.

      LA = WORLD CHAMPS

    1. Nope pedro,

ASStros lllegally used cameras to get live intel (pitching signals).

You DO know the garbage cans can’t read pitching signals all by themselves.

You come here to argue and haven’t a clue what happened????

      Tarado!

  7. Really? JUST GET OVER IT. Mlb made their decision. And get this, as far as the history books are concerned, you lost. Think about that while you live the rest of your lives fuming about it. It’s hilarious. Can’t accept that you got beaten by a better team. I literally sleep better at night knowing that a bunch of idiots in California are still losing their minds about it.

  8. Funny how most outrage comes from ignorance rather than facts. Maybe one day Dodgers fans can come to grips, but losing at home is tough, you search for answers and latch on to whatever you can. In the future have fun paying Bauer and that championship that actually will come with an “*”.

  9. TRULY THE SADEST PART OF THIS HOLE THING IS YOU CHEATED, YOUR TEAM CHEATED, IT’S NOT JUST DODGER FANS THAT HATE YOUR TEAM BUT IT’S PRETTY MUCH EVERY TEAM IN BASEBALL HAS A HARD ON FOR YOUR ASS-TROS, IF THE ROLES WERE REVERSED, I WOULD BE TOTALLY EMBARRESED, THAT THE DODGERS FELT THEY HAD TO CHEAT TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES. SO WHAT I DON’T GET HOW U GUYS COULD BE SO PROULD OF YOUR TEAM FOR CHEATING, THAT IS TRULY EMBARRESING. ALTHOUGH I DO AGREE WITH RAMAS, HE’S RIGHT IN A COUPLE OF THOSE LOSSES YOU DID NOT GIVE ARE TEAM ENOUGH RUNS TO WIN, THATS ON US NOT THE ASTROS, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE FOR A TEAM THAT CHEATED IT STYILL TOOK THEM 7 GAMES TO WIN THAT SERIES SO GET OVER IT WHO EVER YOU ARE, WO, YOU CHEATED YOUR WAY TO WIN A SERIES, SO REMEMBER THAT * BECAUSE KNOW ONE WILL EVER FORGET, YOU ACT LIKE THIS IS ONLY ABOUT THE ASTROS, AND THE DODGERS, BUT EVERY TEAM REMBERS WHAT A CERTAIN ASTROS TEAM DID IN 2017, I DON’T BLAME THE ASTROS FANS, YOU SHOULD ROOT FOR YOUR TEAM, BUT ANY FAN IS PROUD THAT YOU KNOWINGLY WON BY CHEATING SAYS ALOT ABOUT YOU AS PEOPLE, YOUR AS BAD AS THOSE PLAYERS THAT WERE OK WITH IT, SO WITH ALL DO RESPECT GO SCREW YOUR SELF, AND YOUR ASS-TROS!!!!

  10. Josh Reddick hit with the Redsox, Athletics, the DODGERS, and the Astros. He never needed help. The man won a ring. He was on a team that cheated, but that doesn’t mean he did. So if he went out there and played baseball like he had his entire career and in doing so, his team won a world series, why would he have regrets? What would he regret? Should he of snitched? No. Those are his teammates. That team is the team giving him a check. He had his best years in Oakland. That man had been playing for a while and I doubt he needs help to hit. He was hitting a better BA than the Dodgers have as a team this year. And that’s without counting your pitchers At Bats in soooo….

  11. Newsflash: the two are not mutually exclusive. World Champion Whiners. That’s the LA Dodgers (and their fans).

This article was good for a laugh though: the Astros “stole the Dodgers’ opportunity to win a title” in 2017? No, that opportunity was right there in front of them in game 7 in their own ballpark and they CHOKED. Deal with it.

  12. Ramas- As a Dodger fan, I agree with your assessment of Game 7. We blew it and it’s impossible to blame the the Astros cheating system because it wasn’t available to them at Dodger Stadium. They jumped all over Darvish (a pitcher they knew well), stunned the crowd, and the Dodgers were never really in it after the first few innings. My argument is it probably shouldn’t have gotten to Game 7. Kershaw threw 51 breaking balls in Game 5 and DIDN’T GET A SINGLE ONE SWUNG ON. That’s statistically crippling for him especially and can’t be explained by anomaly. I’m not saying the Dodgers were the better team, necessarily. I think the Astros, for the most part, have proven they’re a talented team after the fact and on their own merit. What kills me is that we will never really know who would have won if they Astros cheating system was never put into place. That’s what’s great about sports; it’s (for the most part) not subjective. It’s pure. And you can trust the outcome, even if it’s painful for you personally. I hope those Astros players wake up some nights and ask themselves if they could have won without it, because I think they probably could have. In closing, I’ll add that when Josh Reddick came to the Dodgers in 2015 as a much-hyped trade deadline acquisition, he bombed horribly and the Dodger fans eventually let him hear it (as is their right.) He’s made many public statements about hating his time in LA, but he sucked hard and always comes off as a whiny little B who never owned up to the fact that he didn’t justify his salary while here. But at least he’s consistent.

  13. Ah ha ha ha!! I love that story!! I knew the ‘Stros already lived rent-free in the minds of the Yankees and their fans, but it’s almost as nice to see we do it to the Dodgers and their fans too, even 4 years later.

Would I have rather there never been the sign stealing? Of course. But I take nothing away from that 2017 Astros team because we don’t *know* if or how much it helped them. If you look at their batting avg at home and away that year, there’s just not a big difference and they were actually BETTER on the road (.284 on the road, .279 at home). And even if it did help them, the Dodgers had 4 chances to win games at home including the decisive game 7, but could only win 2 of them. Rule #1: protect home field but the Dodgers couldn’t do it and there was no sign stealing there.

Sorry, but the better team won, and that’s the bottom line. The sooner you accept it and move it, the better off you’ll be.

  14. The facts are: 1) some Astros cheated in home games, 2) those players were not held accountable, 3) MLB can’t award the title to another team after the fact. This is why Dodger fans, players, and most fair-minded observers hold on to resentment. The Astros’ title gets the same asterisk applied to records of steroid users.
