Dodgers: Justin Turner Talks Big Day in Series Win Against Diamondbacks

The Los Angeles Dodgers get yet another series win, this time coming against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Dodgers took care of business Sunday afternoon, defeating the Diamondbacks 9-3.

It was a homer fest at Dodger Stadium, led by Justin Turner. Following the game, Turner spoke with Dodgers reporter, Alanna Rizzo.

“Yeah, I felt good in the box, made a couple adjustments, hadn’t had a very good series so far, leading into today, and it felt good to get on the board.”

JT also shared his thoughts on Hyun-Jin Ryu’s return performance:

“Hyun-Jin just doing Hyun-Jin things, changing speeds, using all his pitches, pitching in, pitching out, getting the ball on the ground when he needed to, and he gets in trouble and finds a way to escape, and it’s fun to play defense behind him.”

Turner on how they handled this series, not taking anything for granted with a big lead in the division:

“No, there is still a lot to play for, we’re trying to win home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, and a lot of guys are trying to continue to get hits, and perform, and do well. So, even though we had that lead, it doesn’t matter, we’re still showing up to the field every day, trying to win ball games. The more games we win, that means the more success for everyone individually.”

After his 2-4 performance, the former All-Star third baseman is up to .287 with an .859 OPS on the season. His 2 home runs got him up to 19 on the season, setting him for his third 20 home run season in his last four years.
