Dodgers: LHP Scott Alexander Closing in on Return to the Big League Club

The Dodgers should be closing in on getting another bullpen rm bak soon. Despite the number of guys they’ve had to use to slap together a bullpen for most of 2021, they’re getting healthier and almost back to full strength.

With that also comes some left-handed pitching help. The Dodgers should see Scott Alexander back within the next week if everything continues to progress the way it has. Alexander hit the injured list back in early May with shoulder inflammation.

This week, Alexander appeared in his third game for the OKC Dodgers as part of his rehab assignment. He once against retired the side in order and added to a decent rehab process that has seen him give up just 1 run.

Dave Roberts said this week that they do have an estimated return for him.

Hopefully, if things go well a July second or third activation is in the cards.

Getting Alexander back into the Dodgers bullpen would just be adding to an already deep well of talent. The Los Angeles relief team has truly come together over the last few weeks, anchored in the back by Kenley Jansen

The hope for the Dodgers is that Alexander can continue to do what he has done in the early parts of the 2021 season. He got his walks way down from 2020 and has been able to maintain the high groundball percentage. That’s why they brought him to Los Angeles in the first place.
