Dodgers Lose to Rangers, Need for Starting Pitching Apparent
The Dodgers couldn’t pull off the sweep in Texas but still come away with a series win and great road trip to open the second half of the season. Emmet Sheehan struggled serving up a career high 8 runs in the loss. There were a few bright spots from the game, mainly Max Muncy’s first inning grand slam and some nice defensive moments by your boys in blue.

Sheehan picked up the first loss of his career and is showing signs of being a bit outmatched at times at the big league level. With the trade deadline just over one week away, the Dodgers will clearly be active on the market for starting pitchers. Lucas Giolito and Marcus Stroman are among the names that have most often been linked to LA.
After the game, Dave Roberts made it sound like Sheehan’s spot in the rotation is safe for now.

Yes, we could use starting pitching.
However, do we not have 2 starters about to come off of IL. That will make 6 on the 25 roster even after Sheehan is sent down. How many do you think we actually need???
