Player of the Day – Tom Windle
Dustin Nosler of DodgersDigest.com was at the game and tweeted out info during Windle’s start. He said the lefty was sitting 89-92, touching 95 with good armside run and his slider was in the mid-to-high 80s with sharp break. Also flashed a low-80s changeup. Outside of a pair of rough outings, Tom has been strong this year. He’s averaging just about a strikeout an inning and less than three walks per nine. He’s only allowed one homer and it was in High Desert, a park where even popups have a chance of clearing the wall. Posting a 2.47 ground to fly rate is likely the biggest reason for his success so far.
