Dodgers News: 25-Man Roster Set For Opening Day 2014
Prior to the Los Angeles Dodgers starting their 2014 season, they had to cut their roster down from the 30-man travel roster to their 25-man roster. Matt Kemp, Josh Beckett and Chad Billingsley were all placed on the 15-Day DL retroactive to March 19 while Zack Greinke, Brandon League and Dan Haren were placed on the three-man exempt list. Not to mention Carl Crawford is on paternity leave as he waits in Arizona for the birth of his third child.
Among their other moves was optioning Tim Federowicz to the minor leagues while Joc Pederson, Zach Lee, Ross Stripling and Miguel Rojas were all reassigned. Drew Butera is the Dodgers backup catcher since he’s out of options while Federowicz was able to be optioned to the minor leagues.
