Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Reveals Source of Will Smith’s Concussion Symptoms

Will Smith has missed the series against the Cubs so far while dealing with an undisclosed illness, as Dave Roberts called it. On Sunday, the team placed Smith on the 7-day injured list with concussion symptoms. Before the game, Roberts revealed the sources of the catcher’s injury.

MLB.com beat writer Juan Toribio reported the news on Twitter.

In 11 games this season, he’s hitting .333 with 3 home runs and 12 RBIs while posting a 1.058 OPS. Last night, Roberts alluded to Smith undergoing “more testing” after he missed his second straight game.

“We’re going to try to run some more tests and try to figure this thing out. Obviously, we’re probably going to make a move. I don’t know what that’s gonna be. But just doesn’t look good. We’ll evaluate tomorrow and see where he’s at.”

Today, Roberts said Will felt “foggy and uneasy” adding that he passed all testing along the way.

While Smith is on the IL, the team added veteran catcher Austin Wynns to the mix to back up Austin Barnes behind the dish.
