Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Says Kenley Jansen is Not Available for NLDS Game 3
A night after struggling through 30 pitches and recording only 2 outs in the 9th inning of National League Division Series game 2, Dave Roberts told the media that closer Kenley Jansen would not be available for game 3.

The reasoning, Doc explained, wasn’t driven by Kenley’s struggles but the fact that he had already gone back-to-back nights in this series against the Padres. In game 1, the embattled closer tossed 9 pitches to record the final 2 outs of a game 1 win. In game 2, he couldn’t record the final out and gave way to right-hander Joe Kelly, who walked a tight rope to secure the 6-5 save.
Still, Roberts admits he still will have to rethink the 9th inning role going forward in October. Notably, the rest of the pitching staff save for Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler is available tonight.
Doc notes that the team is trying to get other guys in the game when he can.

The Dodgers lead the series 2-0 over the Padres and go for the sweep tonight, sending rookie flamethrower Dustin May to mound against San Diego’s rookie lefty Adrian Morejon. May threw 27 pitches on Tuesday night’s game 1, but came out after the game saying he would be ready to throw again at any point in the series.
If LA can secure the win tonight, the club moves on to the National League Championship Series to face the Atlanta Braves. The series remains in Arlington, Texas.
Best news I heard all MONTH
Roberts leaving Kolarek in, 3 hits, 2 walks….so much for being a genius.
But he’ll be right there on game 1 in the nlcs I bet. Yay for us (rolls eyes)
Send his butt down to the alternate site then we won’t have to worry about seeing him in any situation. Have some balls, Dave!
