Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Talks Ryan Pepiot’s Offseason and Areas of Improvement

Ryan Pepiot made his first major-league debut in 2022 and is using this offseason to capitalize off his early success. Last season, the pitcher posted a 3.47 ERA in 36.1 innings and went 3-0 across the nine games and seven starts he had.

While speaking to the media at Camelback Ranch, manager Dave Roberts spoke about Pepiot’s development.

“Ryan’s working on the delivery, which he did a lot of this winter. The pace of play, the tempo has been really good. The misses aren’t as bad and he’s kind of understanding how his delivery works.”

Now that the Dodgers are leaning on the youth movement, the 25-year-old could see more opportunities to play this season. As long as he steadily works on his mechanics, Pepiot could make significant strides this season. Pepiot already shows great potential of being both a strong leader and player but will work on his control and deliver as Roberts mentioned.

Pepiot is surrounded by a group of other young stars including James Outman, Miguel Vargas, Gavin Stone, and Michael Grove.  As he learns from his teammates and refines his playing style, Pepiot could serve to be a solid player in the Dodgers lineup in the near future.
