Dodgers News: JD Martinez Scratched From Lineup Again

Another day, another scratch from the lineup for Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez.

For the fourth time this month, the Dodgers All-Star DH has been scratched from the lineup with groin tightness. The team made the announcement about an hour before game time.

Martinez has been dealing with this groin tightness all month, and missed over a week of time, but didn’t spend any time on the injured list.

The Dodgers were hoping Martinez could just sit out and let it heal, and then return to the lineup and go back to normal. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

After playing in the first two games of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers, Martinez is back on the shelf, adding more concern to the fact that he may now have to go on the injured list.

Here’s the updated lineup with Martinez now out:

We obviously hope Martinez doesn’t have to go on the injured list, but if he does, expect to see either Michael Busch or Miguel Vargas come up in his place.
