Dodgers News: Jimmy Nelson Heads to Injured List with an Elbow Issue

Another day, another roster move for the defending world champion Los Angeles Dodgers. About an hour before first pitch on Wednesday, the club announced that right-hander Jimmy Nelson is heading to the injured list with elbow inflammation. In a corresponding move, lefty Darien Nunez rejoins the active roster after about a week with Triple-A OKC.

In the case of Nelson and the Dodgers, it’s another devastating blow to the bullpen core. The reliever has posted a 1.86 ERA over 28 games, when healthy. This is his third stint on the IL this season.

Nunez has struggled in the early goings of his big league career. The 28-year-old has allowed 5 earned runs in 7.1 innings over 5 games. On the season in the minor leagues, Darien has a 2.55 ERA in 35.1 IP across two levels.
