Dodgers News: Kenley Jansen Activated From the Paternity List

The Dodgers went pretty hard on Kenley Jansen over the weekend. Usually hesitant to use him on back-to-back days, Dave Roberts ended up throwing him out there 3 straight days to lock down saves and keep them in the game Thursday.

But Kenley got some much-needed rest and time with his family this week. The Dodgers closer and his wife welcomed a newborn daughter and Kenley went on the paternity list for a few days. In his place, they added Mitch White for a few days to fill the gaps.

White ended up throwing a few innings on Monday night, likely to keep everyone else rested. The Dodgers knew that Kenley was supposed to be returning today, and they just activated him off of the paternity list. Mitch White was optioned in the move as well.

That means the Dodgers will have their closer back in the bullpen tonight against the Diamondbacks. It does not sound like he will have any limitations on him since he got a few days off, even after going 3 in a row last week.

The Dodgers will need to continue to do damage against a bad Arizona team tonight too. The Giants are playing the struggling Padres who are putting Jake Arrieta out on the mound.
