Dodgers News: LA Recalls Justin Bruihl, Jonny DeLuca Amid Series of Roster Moves
The Dodgers made a series of moves prior to their series finale against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. They recalled left-handed pitcher Justin Bruihl and outfielder Jonny Deluca. In a corresponding move, the team optioned right-handed Nick Robertson and placed recently acquired outfielder Jake Marisnick on the injured list with a hamstring strain.

The injury bug continues to take hold of the Dodgers and this is just another example from this season. LA will move forward now and try to finish off the sweep over Baltimore.
Bruihl rejoins the team after appearing in 16 games for them earlier in the season. On the year, he holds an ERA of 3.72 and has 15 strikeouts over 19.1 innings of work. He will look to help solidify the Dodgers bullpen, which has pitched better of late but still presents some issues.
DeLuca returns to replace Marisnick and he gets another chance with the big league team. He appeared in 20 games for LA this season and hit .212/.278/.333. DeLuca has added in one home run and has three runs batted in on the year. He made eight starts for the Dodgers but now gets a shot to show he can hit better during his second stint.
As for Marisnick, it’s unfortunate that he went down with an injury in Tuesday’s win over Baltimore. During his limited time, he played well but now will be out for an extended amount of time it seems.
And finally for Robertson, he played in nine games for the Dodgers and holds an ERA of 6.10. He wasn’t great during his time with the team and sees himself optioned.
LA continues their series against the Orioles but then heads to Texas for a three-game series against the Rangers. They will see plenty of familiar faces during that series and it will be another strong test for LA post All-Star break.
