Dodgers News: Mitch White Gets the Start Today in Atlanta

The Dodgers have to adjust to life now that they have so many issues on their starting staff. They obviously already lost Walker Buehler for most of the year, and now Andrew Heaney is back on the IL with a shoulder issue. it’s been tough sledding for them as of late.

But in place of Heaney, the Dodgers will once again turn to Mitch White this afternoon. White is making his third start of the month after tossing 5 innings against the Pirates and 5 innings against the White Sox. In those 2 starts, White has allowed 3 earned runs.

He’s been a surprising bright spot for the Dodgers this season in a fill-in role. White has combined for a .183 batting average by opposing hitters as a starter and is allowing far less hard contact than as a reliever. He might have found his groove with this team, but he faces off against Max Fried tonight.

Other Dodgers News

The Dodgers have a tough call to make with their bullpen, but a change in closer is apparently not on the table. Dave Roberts said they will not be going away from Craig Kimbrel in the 9th inning despite some atrocious outings, most recently allowing 2 runs to give away the game on Sunday.
