Dodgers News: Seager’s Doubles and Home Runs Make History
We all know how talented Corey Seager is. He leads the Dodgers in almost all of the major batting statistics such as home runs, average, hits, and runs. He was chosen to participate in the 2016 Home Run Derby and was also named a reserve on the 2016 All-Star Team!
The kid is having a phenomenal rookie season for the Dodgers and is a top candidate to receive the National League Rookie of the Year award. He has already done the next best thing which is win a National League Rookie of the Month award for the month of June!

On Sunday, though the Dodgers lost to Arizona 6-5, Seager made history! He became the first Dodger ever to have a game with 3 home runs and a game with 3 doubles in the same season! With today’s three doubles, Seager also tied Brandon Belt for the most doubles in the national league with 27!

With a resume already longer than some veterans, Seager has the opportunity to make it even longer and match the great Jackie Robinson in a few categories! Like stated earlier, Seager leads the club in hits which has only been done by 4 other rookies, Jackie Robinson being the first.

However, when you include the Brooklyn days, Robinson takes the crown with 21. Lastly, if he continues to lead the club in hits, runs, and home runs, he would be the first rookie to do so since, you guessed it, Jackie Robinson.
Corey Seager leads #Dodgers in hits. He'd be 5th rookie in team history to do that. Last: Raul Mondesi. First: Jackie Robinson.

From Dodgers PR: Corey Seager leads the club in hits, runs and home runs. No Dodgers rookie has done that since Jackie Robinson in 1947.
