Dodgers News: Yasiel Puig Bruises Hip, Considered Day-to-Day
In what was one of the scariest sights of the season, Yasiel Puig crashed into the right field wall in the fifth inning tonight against the Rockies and had to leave the game just an inning later.
Puig made the play against Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado and even came up for his at-bat in the sixth, but was then pulled from the game.
During the eighth inning, the Dodgers updated Puig’s status and he received good news:
Yasiel Puig bruised his left hip and the muscles of his thigh when he hit the wall. He had a precautionary X-Ray that was negative.

Puig has some tightness in the thigh where he hit and is listed as day to day.

Today was a special day for Puig as he received the NL Player and Rookie of the Month, a feat that has never been accomplished by someone in their first year in the big leagues.
Regardless, it doesn’t sound like Puig will be out for a significant amount of time as the Dodgers can’t afford to lose their spark plug while they continue their hot play.
