Dodgers Notes: Another All-Star to IL, Veteran Leaves Organization to Sign Elsewhere, Tony Gonsolin Nearing Return
The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins, 7-6, on Monday evening thanks to a Tommy Edman two-run walkoff single in the 10th inning. Edman didn’t get the start on his first off day of the season, but came up big to help the Dodgers improve to 19-10.
Unfortunately, the Dodgers had to add another All-Star pitcher to the injured list. After his last two starts ended early because of injury, the right-hander has been officially added to the IL.
Additionally, a veteran outfielder has left the team to sign elsewhere. After clearing waivers, the veteran went back to a familiar ball club after he was brought to the Dodgers this past spring.
Finally, some pitching help is on the way as All-Star Tony Gonsolin is set to return to the rotation this week. It has been about 20 months since the right-hander last pitched in the majors, as he is in line to face the same team in the same stadium where he last threw a pitch in MLB.
