Dodgers Notes: LA Makes Blockbuster Trades, Justin Turner Traded, Latest Deadline Rumors

The Dodgers didn’t play Monday, but they were the opposite of sedentary.

A three-team trade with the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals, and a smaller trade with the Tampa Bay Rays, kicked off the Dodgers’ deadline activity and began to reshape their roster in advance of the 3 p.m. PT deadline. Here’s all the news you might have missed:

Dodgers Re-Acquire Amed Rosario, Designate Ryan Yarbrough

The Dodgers have brought back Amed Rosario from the Rays, adding depth to their infield as the MLB trade deadline approaches. This marks Rosario’s return to the Dodgers following a stint with the Rays where he put up impressive batting numbers. In a corresponding move, pitcher Ryan Yarbrough has been designated for assignment.

Dodgers Acquire 3 Players in Blockbuster 3-Team Trade

The Dodgers have completed a significant trade, acquiring INF/OF Tommy Edman and RHP Michael Kopech in a major deal involving the White Sox and Cardinals. Miguel Vargas is the only major league player leaving the Dodgers. This move aims to bolster their lineup and pitching staff as they push for playoff contention.

Former Dodger Justin Turner Traded to Mariners

Justin Turner, a former Dodgers star, has been traded to the Seattle Mariners from the Toronto Blue Jays. As Turner bolsters a weak Mariners lineup, the Dodgers can look forward to seeing him in Los Angeles later this season.

Dodgers’ Ryan Brasier Sharp in Return

Ryan Brasier made a notable return to the mound with a perfect inning in his first outing since April, signaling a strong comeback and boosting the bullpen’s capability. He was among the Dodgers’ best relievers last year and would be a major boost in August.

  1. “Blockbuster trades”????
Where? They picked up one halfway decent pitcher and a bunch of castoffs and hangar queens.

  2. So when it was all said and done, Dodgers did well getting flaherty and Rosario. Kiermaier’s 196 avg, 230 OBA is Outman #’s so why? The rest are just adding nothing more than we had. Paxton is a headscratcher. Oh well, we”ll see. Better Hope Mookie hits 300 and Muncy comes back in shape, Yomamoto is himself and Kersh can get through the 3rd inning. Buehler maybe next year.

  3. I saw kershaw pitch and he looked wasted and told someone that he pitched ok but after 3 innings he looked terrible !

  4. The Dodger trades are like a guy who says he can box, throws his best punch and hits you in the shoulder. They act like they are going heavy on acquisitions but end up with ‘ah okay’.
