Dodgers Open Spring Training With 8-Run First Inning Against Padres
After a historically aggressive offseason in which the front office committed more than $1.2 billion in future pay to free agents, and talk of a World Series-or-best expectation for the 2024 season, the Dodgers finally had a chance to let their actions do the talking Thursday.
Boy, did they ever.
The Dodgers erupted for eight runs in the first inning of their Cactus League Opener against the San Diego Padres in Peoria, Arizona. The outburst saw the Dodgers bat around against three Padres pitchers. Starter Joe Musgrove did not record an out.
The reaction among Dodger fans on social media was predictably ecstatic.
