Kevin Padlo Hits First Home Run of Cactus League as Dodgers Start Red Hot

In the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Cactus League opener against the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers got off to about as good a start as it gets. Eight of the first nine Dodgers reached base and scored, giving them an early 8-0 lead in the first inning.

With the Dodgers leading 6-0, non-roster invitee Kevin Padlo hit the first home run of the team’s Cactus League season. Padlo followed two ground-rule doubles hit by Teoscar Hernández and Chris Owings. Andy Pages’ base hit brought in another two runs.

This was an especially great start for Padlo, who has zero career MLB home runs since making his debut in 2021. Padlo signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers in 2024 with an invitation to Spring Training. He wasted no time making his mark on this team.
