Dodgers Padres Mega Preview: LA’s New Additions, Keys to Winning Division and More

The Dodgers and Padres are facing off again for the first time in months. Nearly three months, in fact. A lot has happened since the last time these two clubs faced off. The Dodgers continued to play good baseball despite issues in the starting rotation. While the Padres continued to struggle in frustrating ways including a number of one run losses.

Things have come together a bit for San Diego since the All-Star break as the club has gone 10-5 since July 18th, second best in baseball over that stretch. The Padres added players at the trade deadline and are seemingly playing the best they’ve played since the first few weeks of the season.

So, naturally that comes as the Dodgers come to town.

The Dodgers have been a bit on the downturn over that same stretch, going 8-6 since the 18th, aided by a sweep of the basement dwelling A’s in LA. Despite the mini shift in power, the Padres are still 9 games back and in fourth place in the NL West. However, they now find themselves just 4 games out of a Wild Card Spot.
