Dodgers’ Road Trip Includes Must-Watch Series of the Month, ESPN Says

We’ve made it to the second half of the MLB regular season, and to no one’s surprise, the Los Angeles Dodgers remain the team to watch.

The Boys in Blue are such a draw, in fact, that ESPN named an upcoming series a “must-watch” for July.

Dodgers’ Northeast road trip has some great matchups

The All-Star Break comes in the middle of this month, and prior to that, the Dodgers are facing National League West rivals the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks.

With the Dodgers 12 games clear of the rest of the division as of Wednesday, there’s not much drama there.

But after the All-Star Break, the Dodgers hit the road for three series in the Northeast, one of which could be an early look at the Fall Classic.

“It’s always special when the Yankees and Dodgers get together, and immediately after the All-Star break, the two will square off in the Bronx for what will be billed as a World Series preview,” wrote ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez. “The Dodgers own the best record and run differential in the sport. The Yankees have faded a bit since Aaron Judge went down, but in a watered-down AL, they remain heavy favorites to capture another pennant — and seek revenge for 2024.”

That, of course, is just one great matchup on this road trip.

Who else do the Dodgers play in July?

After the series against the Yankees, the Dodgers head to Philadelphia — or back to Philadelphia for the Dodgers who make the All-Star Game — for a matchup against the Phillies, who are led by former Dodgers manager Don Mattingly.

After that, the Dodgers head back to the Big Apple to face the New York Mets, a team that’s essentially LA’s foil.

Both teams are big spenders, though the Dodgers use that money to win.

The Mets, meanwhile, have the worst record in the NL East.
