Dodgers Rumors: Juan Soto on the Mind of Andrew Friedman
The Dodgers could have an absolutely insane trade deadline, or they could do nothing at all. It’s tough to gauge from a team that has a dominant lead in the National League West with no real threat. The only prize in mind right now is a World Series title in October.
But if they were going to go out and make a splash, many Dodgers fans would like that to be Juan Soto. The superstar outfielder is the talk of baseball right now, and with good reason. He very well could be available via trade, and he’ll command a ridiculous return.
This week, Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman was asked about the Soto possibility. And it sounds like the organization is going to at least feel out his market. After all, that’s what they do when a big name is made available.
I think last year they needed a big trade to get a starter and a bat that produced. This year not as much. Last year the price was relatively low, this year much higher for Soto alone, and if you want pitching depth you need another deal. Friedman and his staff know the short, mid, and long term needs and how to fill them than any of the writers or readers of these speculative pieces. The team is in good hands.
Please get Soto Friedman. I know that you can do it.
