Dodgers: Salty Dave Caves, Mookie’s Hidden Impact, We Fixed Barnesy?? | Blue Heaven Podcast
The hashtag #SaltyDave made it’s way around Twitter after Dave Roberts hit a boiling point with questions about his lineup decisions. After a tense Zoom call with local media, Doc finally caved and gave in to the pressure and let Mookie Betts hit leadoff full time. The Dodgers haven’t lost since.
Listen
With Dave out of his own way, Mookie found another way to help as Austin Barnes personal hitting coach. Sort of. We talk about the resurgent Real AB and the new catching conundrum the Dodgers are facing behind the plate with rookie Keibert Ruiz in the big leagues. It’s not completely Betts being on top of the lineup. Many of the other players picked it up also. I’m glad barns is doing better. Betts kind of had a letdown or something today, he’s not superman after all. Like I said, you don’t need the long ball all the time to win games, today they played small ball & stealing bases, good for them. use everything you’ve got, keep them guessing, mix it up.
