Dodgers Score: Two Players Homer in LA’s 8-4 Win On Sunday
The Dodgers are getting hot with a month left before the 2023 season officially kicks off.
On Sunday afternoon, the Dodgers put together an 8-4 win over the White Sox at Camelback Ranch. The team also put up 14 hits across the game including two homers from Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, the 1-2 punch at the top of the lineup.
To start the game, our favorite “backup second baseman” had a lead-off homer to put the team up 1-0 early in the day.
The very next inning, James Outman, who’s been battling for a spot in the starting lineup, hit a triple to center field to score Austin Barnes.
The 25 year old LA prospect’s stat line for Spring just keeps getting better and better as Opening Day quickly approaches. He wants that starting spot in the outfield bad and personally, I think he’s earned it.
Another key moment came in the last out of the fourth inning, Urias’ last pitch of the day. With two on base and Jake Burger up to bat, the Cy Young Award finalist struck him out swinging to keep the team’s 2-0 lead intact.
In his last start in the Cactus League, he allowed 3 hits, no runs, 1 strikeout, and no walks in 4 innings and 49 pitches total. He will now move on to represent Team Mexico in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
Then, in the fifth inning, Freddie Freeman walked up to the plate with Mookie on first. And for the third time this Spring, the six-time All-Star hit a two-run bomb to centerfield.
The very next inning, Austin Barnes singled to score Yonny Hernández to put the team up 5-0. The White Sox attempted to make a run in the seventh by piecing together four runs of their own but it wasn’t enough against the Dodgers’ offense on the day.
In the bottom of the inning, LA responded by putting together two runs followed by one more in the bottom of the eighth to round out the team’s scoring for the day. Urias was awarded the win and David Mann also stepped up on the day going 2-for-2 with two doubles, 2 RBI, and a run for the Dodgers.
Tomorrow, the Boys in Blue will play the Padres for the second time this Spring with the first pitch planned for 12:05 PM. Noah Syndergaard will take the mound for his first start of the year and will face Nick Martinez (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 8 SO) at Camelback Ranch.

The Dodgers played the White Sox’s, not the Red Sox’s. Someone is colorblind.
