Dodgers Shift Starting Rotation Schedule Following Wednesday’s Cancelled Game

The Los Angeles Dodgers spring training game on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies was cancelled due to rain. Clayton Kershaw was scheduled to start on Wednesday for the second time this spring. However, now that Wednesday is off, Kershaw’s start will be pushed to Thursday against the Texas Rangers.

Noah Syndergaard was scheduled to start that one for the Dodgers. With Kershaw taking that start, it’ll be interesting to see if Syndergaard still pitches in relief to keep him on schedule. If they choose to do that, Kershaw can start and go around three or four innings, and Syndergaard can pitch the next four or five.

The Dodgers had a scheduled day off on Tuesday, so this makes two straight days without a Cactus League game. It’ll be interesting to see if the lineup changes on Thursday, or if manager Dave Roberts chooses to give the same guys the opportunity to play. For what it’s worth, here was the scheduled lineup for Wednesday:

First pitch for Thursday’s game is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PST. Hopefully the rain goes away and Kershaw gets to make his second start of the spring.

  1. Comments haven’t been working on this website for months. My family and friends rarely use Dodgers Nation any more. Reading comments to articles on baseball websites is a primary feature.

  2. So Kershaw will now start Thursday vs. the Rangers, and Syndergaard will pitch relief? Will this change the Dodgers’ rotation plans at all?
