Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Reveals More Details About Wife, Marriage With Japanese Outlet

Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani shocked the world this week when he revealed on Instagram that he was a married man.

Ohtani then spoke to reporters on Thursday, and gave a little information on his marriage, and specifically why he decided to announce it when he did.

Ohtani elected not to reveal much information about his wife, except for the fact that he’s known her for three to four years.

On Friday, though, Japanese media outlet “Number Web” secured an exclusive interview with Ohtani, where they uncovered a little more information on his relationship.

Ohtani said he’s about two years older than his wife, who he said on Thursday is a “normal Japanese woman.”

He also said that he likes that he isn’t different when he’s with her compared to when he’s alone — a great quality in a partner.

Ohtani added that he had special shoes made for her in her size for her birthday, which they were able to celebrate together. When she’s in Japan and he’s in America, they talk on the phone a lot and stream shows at the same time. Ohtani and his wife are currently watching “House of Shinobi” on Netflix.

On the baseball field, Ohtani is currently 2-for-4 in Cactus League play with the Dodgers with a two-run home run, an RBI single and two walks.
