Dodgers Team Plane Diverted To LAX During Flight To Texas Airport
After finishing their series in San Diego with an extra-innings win over the Padres, the Los Angeles Dodgers headed to the airport, scheduled to fly to Texas for a two-game series with the Rangers.
However, shortly after takeoff the plane was diverted to LAX. Brett Anderson was one of the first in the traveling party to tweet about the situation:
You know what's not great…taking off in San Diego and landing in LA when you're supposed to be in route to Dallas.

Soon after, Time Warner Cable SportsNet LA’s Alanna Rizzo provided more details:
Made an unplanned landing in LA. Mechanical issues so we're switching planes. TX will have to wait a wee bit longer. #SafetyFirst ????

Despite knowing he would not go to bed until the early morning hours, A.J. Ellis joked about the plane issues on his Twitter account:
Awesome watching Castro's walk off winner on a plane scheduled to go from SD to Dallas yet sitting on an LAX Tarmac #BigLeagueTravelFail

After a two-hour delay, the team boarded a new plane and headed to Texas, landing shortly after 3:00 a.m. CT:
Hello, DFW. Finally.

This plane mishap could not come at a worse time for the Dodgers as they do not have another off day until July 2. During that strech, the team will be on flights to Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida, Arizona, and back to Los Angeles. The Dodgers and Rangers begin a two-game series Monday at 5:05 p.m. PT.
