Dodgers Trade Target Bo Bichette Had Surprising Response When Asked About Trade Rumors

The MLB trade deadline is approaching later this month, and the Los Angeles Dodgers should be in the mix to make a big splash. The Dodgers could go a variety of ways, but one position they may look to address the most is the shortstop position. The Dodgers have been linked to many star-caliber players, but none have been bigger than Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette.

Bichette is among the top trade targets in this deadline cycle, and there’s a chance he gets moved late this month. If he is available, the Dodgers will likely be one of the teams interested in his services.

While it’s no secret that Bichette could be on the block, he decided to keep it honest when asked about the latest trade rumors. Television broadcaster Hazel Mae asked Bichette about the trade rumors and deadline talk, and he gave quite a surprising response.

When asked if he would be surprised if he were traded at the deadline he simply said, “No. Not surprised at all.”

There’s no need to beat around the bush. Bichette was honest and straight to the point. Players who are on the trade block normally aren’t forthright about their feelings about moving teams, so it’s a bit surprising that Bichette chose that route.

Nonetheless, he was transparent, and now we’ll see if the Blue Jays end up finding a trading partner for the 26-year-old All-Star. The Blue Jays are currently eight games behind the final Wild Card spot in the American League, and Bichette, himself, is basically conceding that a selloff wouldn’t surprise him.

The Dodgers have the prospects to acquire a player like Bichette, and he would immedelty join one of the best teams in the league. The Blue Jays are heading nowhere, and they’d receive a bevy of top prospects in a potential trade.

  1. Please, stop proposing trades for weak hitting infielders, and instead find a way to return Biggio!!

  2. The broadcast tonight with EK & Mookie in the booth is the best single broadcast I’ve heard in 65 years of listening to and watching Dodger baseball.
