Dodgers Video: Alex Guerrero Hits Spinning, Cue Ball Single

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Alex Guerrero is in a slump, racking up zero hits in his last 15 at-bats.

In the top of the fifth inning, Guerrero came to the plate as a pinch-hitter for starting pitcher Brandon Beachy. Austin Barnes had previously singled and there was one out. Guerrero promptly hit a ball off the end of his bat that appeared to be a routine ground ball to the first baseman:

Guerrero ended up with a single, Barnes ended up on third and Atlanta Braves first baseman Joey Terdoslavich ended up confused. It was an odd single on a ball with so much spin that it completely deked out a defender. The Dodgers would go on to score four runs in the inning to tie the game.

However, the Dodgers ultimately fell to the Braves, 7-5, and they continue their three-game series on Tuesday.
