Dodgers vs Mets Memorial Day Game Postponed

The Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets series opener on Monday has been postponed due to rain. The team’s will play a doubleheader on Tuesday to make up for it.

The Dodgers’ east coast trip has coincided with massive rain storms. Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds was moved up to try to avoid the rain — although there was still a delay after five innings — and now on on Monday, the Dodgers won’t play at all.

A tarp came on the field at Citi Field about an hour ago, and with game time set for 1:10 p.m. PT, the game was ultimately cancelled.

The teams will now play two games on Tuesday, with first pitch set for 1:10 p.m. PT/ 4:10 p.m. ET. The second game of the doubleheader will take place shortly after the first one ends. The teams will be able to call up a 27th man for the game.

Gavin Stone was scheduled to take the mound for the Dodgers on Monday. Tyler Glasnow was scheduled to pitch on Tuesday.

Now, Glasnow will pitch the morning game, with Stone taking the nightcap.

  1. I’d like to see the Dodgers TRY and make a trade with K.C. for Bobby Witt. They have some good young players that aren’t going to make the team they can use for trade bait. Good hitter, good short stop. Move Mookie back to second and include Lux in the trade.
