Dodgers Will Reunite With AJ Pollock and Joe Kelly This Week
The Dodgers will head out to Chicago this week to take on the White Sox for a 3-game set. Mitch White kicks things off for them tonight and will take on the hard-throwing Michael Kopech. It should be a pretty fun (and tough) way to start the series.
But the series will also feature a few cool moments. Dodgers players will be reunited with a few former players, most recently Joe Kelly and AJ Pollock. It should provide for a decent photo opportunity and a chance for guys to catch up.
Joe Kelly
Kelly signed with the White Sox on a free-agent deal this offseason. He spent 3 years with the Dodgers, mostly marked by that incident in Houston against the Astros. He is currently on the 15-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, so they will not face him.
AJ Pollock
Pollock was traded very last minute before the 2022 season started. The Dodgers got Craig Kimbrel in the deal, but Pollock was a huge part of their success when in Los Angeles. Despite down playoff numbers, he posted a .892 OPS for Los Angeles in 2021.
Yasmani Grandal
And we can’t forget Yasmani. Not necessarily a Dodgers fan favorite while he was here, but he was one of the best offensive catchers we’ve had in a while. And if you want to feel really old, he just passed 10 years in the big leagues.
