Dodgers-Yankees Weekend Series Already Gaining Momentum

The rivalry between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees is a tale as old as time. The two storied clubs clash at Yankee Stadium June 7-9 for a battle between two of the most star-powered teams in Major League Baseball.

It has the feel of a rivalry renewed. It isn’t like the days of old with Don Larsen, Sandy Koufax, or even as recent as Reggie Jackson. It features Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman against Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton.

Both teams are in first place in their respective divisions, but enter the series trending in different directions. As of Thursday, the Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 games while the Dodgers are 5-5 (entering Thursday’s game in Pittsburgh). New York is 20-8 at home and L.A. is 17-13 on the road.

The series is gaining momentum as the first game quickly approaches, but tickets haven’t caught up as of Wednesday.
