Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani and his beloved family member Decoy are the stars of a mural at a new dog park in downtown Los Angeles.
Decoy, a Kooikerhondje that Ohtani has compared more to a “friend” or “family” than a pet, is shown high-fiving the Dodgers star in the mural, which was reported by Edward Lewis of the New York Post.

Muralist Alex Ali Gonzalez created the 28-foot-tall artwork at Pawradise Park in the Arts District of downtown L.A.
Gonzalez explained on social media that the mural shows Ohtani and Decoy “sharing a special moment.”
The artist also provided a sweeping video of the artwork, showing off some of the cute details highlighting human-animal friendship.
“Swing by and check it out in person any time,” Gonzalez added.
Outside of the Ohtani and Decoy mural, visitors to Pawradise Park can “enjoy great cafe beverages and a vibrant community,” the business said on its website.
“We are more than just a park. We combine the exclusivity and safety of a private members’ club with the lively spirit of your favorite neighborhood hangout,” the business added. “Whether you’re here for a morning coffee, an after-work drink, or a weekend adventure, we offer a clean, safe, and welcoming space where you and your best friend can unwind and socialize with like-minded dog lovers.”
There’s no word yet if the two-way star and/or his beloved pup will make an appearance.
Ohtani Has Close Relationship With Decoy
The slugger and pitcher recently refused to identify himself as Decoy’s owner, instead describing a more equal relationship.
“I don’t look at Decoy like I’m his owner, he’s just we’re friends, me and Decoy are friends, we’re family,” Ohtani said about him.

The pair also recently wrote a children’s book, “Decoy Saves Opening Day,” which came out earlier this month.
Aside from writing and taking care of Decoy, Ohtani is getting ready for the 2026 season and a possible Dodgers three-peat after World Series titles in 2024 and 2025.
