Exclusive Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto Bobbleheads Release for Dodgers Tokyo Series
The Los Angeles Dodgers kick off their 2025 season in Tokyo against the Chicago Cubs in just one week, and the defending champions have had a busy spring training getting their new roster additions acclimated.
If everyone stays healthy, L.A. could have one of the greatest rotations of pitchers in the history of the game. Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are proven aces with years of experience as starters under their belt, and despite Glasnow’s 2024 season ending early due to injury, he’s already looking comfortable again in Cactus League.
Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin have been two names that the Dodgers have closely been monitoring this spring as they both return from grueling injury periods. Dave Roberts has revealed that he’s decided who will make L.A.’s starting rotation between the two to start the year, and that he’ll share that news with the media after he lets the team know.
Of course, there also the Dodgers future in Roki Sasaki, who is just 23 years old and on track to make his MLB debut for the team in L.A.’s second game of their Tokyo Series. Sasaki touched 99 MPH in his own first Cactus League game and struck out five batters across three innings. He is also set to start against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday.
But as Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto enter their second seasons with the Dodgers, they do so with major storylines surrounding them. Ohtani will make his long-awaited return to the mound as he works his way through the final stages of his rehab, while Yamamoto looks to build off a strong rookie campaign that saw him miss months with injury but show out in the postseason.
