Landon Knack Will Remain in Dodgers Rotation Despite Rough First Start
The Los Angeles Dodgers turned to Justin Wrobleski and Landon Knack when two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell was placed on the injured list. Neither Wrobleski nor Knack had promising performances in the Dodgers’ 8-2 loss on Tuesday and the 6-5 victory on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals.

The L.A. lineup gave Knack a 4-0 lead over the Nationals before he took the mound, but by the end of the third inning, the hefty lead over Washington was gone. The right-hander allowed five earned runs and four walks. He tossed two strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched.
Nevertheless, the Dodgers have decided to keep Knack in the starting rotation for the time being. It appears the right-hander will be Snell’s replacement until he returns.
Knack is set to make another start Tuesday or Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies, according to manager Dave Roberts. The right-hander made his Major League debut around the same time last season.
He joined the starting rotation after Bobby Miller was placed on the injured list. Knack became a dependable starter for the Dodgers, sporting a 3.65 ERA across 12 starts and 15 appearances in 2024.
Injuries gave Knack a chance to prove himself last season, and Snell’s shoulder issues have once again given the 27-year-old a rare opportunity with a loaded Dodgers roster.
The defending champions were the favorites to win it all in 2025, but the caveat was if the Dodgers could remain healthy. With 12 pitchers on the IL, the Dodgers will put their pitching depth to the test so early in the season.
