MLB Draft Preview: Dodgers Have 4 Picks in 2016 MLB Draft
The 2016 MLB Draft begins Thursday night and we are excited about the Los Angeles Dodgers having four picks in the draft. Thursday’s draft rounds 1 and 2 will be the only one televised.
The Dodgers have the number 20 overall pick in the first round, 65th pick in the second round and picks 32 and 36 in rounds three and four. Going into an MLB Draft can be nerve-wracking, however Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood wishes all the prospects good luck and offers some words of encouragement:

The Dodgers seem to have a plan going into Thursday’s draft, according to the Dodgers Director of Amateur Scouting Billy Gasparino.
From MLB.com writer Ken Gurnick:
“Our big-picture view is the same,” he said. “Take the best talent available. Andrew [Friedman] and Farhan [Zaidi] are really supportive of that. If we don’t sign the player, we get the pick back and go find more talent next year.”
“I know everyone judges on the first five picks and they’re probably not as strong as people would like,” he said. “For us in the middle portion of the first round and on, it’s really strong. Player 10 to 50, we feel really good about that group. Better, I think a whole grade higher than last year in depth and talent.”
In preparation for Thursday’s event, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA shared some interesting facts about the draft.
Last year the Dodgers signed 36 of their 42 picks. There were 20 college pitchers, 12 college hitters, 2 high school hitters & 2 HS pitchers

Among Dodgers' Thursday picks is No. 36 overall. They picked Lee Lacy with the 36th pick in 1969. As a pitcher.
