MLB Insider Reveals Where Dodgers Could Look to Add This Trade Deadline
It’s inevitable that the Los Angeles Dodgers and their famed braintrust led by Andrew Friedman will look into improving the roster as the year progresses.
Many of the offseason moves were made with the idea that LA would avoid having to overpay for talent at the deadline. The price for these assets normally is astronomical, and Friedman has been relatively steadfast in not giving up young talent for rentals.

This year’s team could use help at several spots. The lack of a true centerfielder may be problematic. Production from the LF and CF spots thus far has also been below where the team would like.
When speaking with Doug McKain, MLB insider Bob Nightengale predicted where the Dodgers could look to add talent via the trade market.
“I could see them adding another outfielder, maybe a reliever but the bullpen is so strong so I’m not even sure that,” Nightengale said. “I would say if they can pick up one piece, maybe an outfielder, even if it’s a fourth or fifth outfielder to have on the bench come playoff time. Andrew Friedman isn’t gonna sit pat. As good as the team looks, you still want to improve on that. And you can certainly improve the outfield adding one more piece.”
A team can never have enough arms, and even with the additions of Kirby Yates and Tanner Scott over the offseason, would it really surprise anyone if the Dodgers acquired another impact arm?
The bench is aging, and as such it wouldn’t be a poor idea to inject some athleticism and/or youth to it. That very well could come from the minor leagues, where a handful of Dodgers’ prospects are on the cusp of making it up with the club.
Regardless, as Nightengale said, Friedman is likely not going to stand pat.
