MLB News: Players Association Claps Back at Rob Manfred

On Tuesday, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced that the first two series of the 2022 regular season have been cancelled. The league and the MLBPA were unable to agree to a new CBA even after bargaining for nine-straight days.

Manfred held a televised press conference in Jupiter, Florida to officially communicate the cancellation of regular season games. In his statement, Manfred said, “The concerns of our fans are at the very top of our consideration list.”

Well Mr. Manfred, the MLBPA doesn’t exactly believe that to be the truth.

The MLBPA released a statement in response to the commissioner’s statements.

MLBPA is expected to hold a press conference of their own today at 6:30 EST.

The two sides will reportedly be meeting later this week to continue the CBA negotiations.

    1. He hasn’t killed Baseball yet, but not for a lack of trying.

In an adversarial situation such as this, you can honorably disagree, and more or less respect your opponent. You can say, “we’re trying, but we have somewhat different priorities and we have yet to come to an agreement.” But Manfred’s just lying thru his teeth, the only thing he’s interested in is money. Not the game, not the players, not the fans, just $$$ Don’t lie to us Manfred, nobody believes you anyway.
