Mookie Betts Out of Dodgers’ Lineup for First Time This Season
For the first time this season, Shohei Ohtani will be hitting in the leadoff spot for the Dodgers on Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds as Mookie Betts gets the day off. Betts had started in the leadoff spot each game for Los Angeles this year.
Los Angeles will need to find a way to take down Cincinnati without their star shortstop but luckily they have plenty of firepower still across the lineup. Betts has hit .341 with eight home runs and 29 runs batted in this season. He hit a leadoff home run last night to propel the Dodgers, the 51st of his career
Ohtani now mans the leadoff spot for the first time as a member of the Dodgers. On the season, Ohtani has hit .358 with 13 home runs and 32 runs batted in.
Right-hander Walker Buehler will take the mound for his third start of the season since returning from injury. Los Angeles dropped the first game of the series to the Reds but bounced back to win last night. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. PT tonight.
