Report: Shohei Ohtani to Make Dodgers Debut Tuesday

Shohei Ohtani is reportedly ready to make his long-awaited Cactus League debut on Tuesday at Camelback Ranch against the Chicago White Sox, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

Ohtani’s goal is to get 50 at-bats in before opening the season in Seoul, South Korea. He is scheduled to take another round of live batting practice on Sunday.

According to Dodgers Insider, Ohtani’s 50 at-bats are a combination of simulated and live games.

“I feel like I have more than enough time to get to 50 at-bats. We can simulate it inside with the pitching machine, we can do it with live at-bats. I’ll have enough time.”

For those wanting to plan to see Ohtani on Tuesday, keep in mind that ticket demand for home games during spring training is through the roof. The Dodgers have sold out their season ticket allotment, but there are plenty available on the secondary market specifically for Tuesday’s game.

TickPick has several general-admission berm tickets available for as low as $20, including fees, as of Sunday morning.
