Shohei Ohtani Joins Exclusive Club With Leadoff Homer

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar joined an elite club with his leadoff home run on Tuesday night.

Ohtani’s 409-foot blast was the 300th in his MLB career.

Shotime now joins 169 other players in the history of the game in hitting 300-plus homers in MLB.

He’s also the 18th active player to be in the 300 homers club.

Ohtani’s 300th home run

In the bottom of the first inning, Ohtani led off and blasted the third pitch from Michael Lorenzen into the centerfield bleachers.

Ohtani’s line drive had an exit velocity of 112.2 mph and came on a 2-0 count.

It brings him to 20 homers on the season, which is a little off the pace he’s set the past two seasons.

Ohtani had 54 home runs in 2024 and 55 in 2025, though he’s taking a more pitcher-centered approach this season.
